"It's great to hear things so you can work on it and get better instead of dwelling in your own shit." - Chef Rachel Hargrove, Below Deck Season Season 10 Episode 11 Fraz-zzled.
She's not wrong. 🤷🏻♀️
I've noticed that there are a lot of people who have big dreams for themselves but a lot of those people don't actually want to do the work to get what they want. Do I sound like Kim K? 😝
One of the things I love about Chef Rachel is that we've seen character development and growth throughout her appearances on multiple seasons as the yacht chef on Below Deck. We've seen her tell Captain Lee to "eat my cooter". But now we see her taking constructive criticism from Captain Sandy and working with her fellow department heads to elevate their performance. To me, that is a boss. 😮💨
I was listening to a book about leadership today. One thing I loved was how they noted that successful leaders must have humility. That resonated with me because I would often see "bosses" in the corporate world who were SO ARROGANT. It often led to toxic work environments which is obviously not ideal when you are trying to run a business.
I have given props to Captain Sandy this season for the way she handled the other captain that requested her to move. However, overall, I am not a fan. I don't recall any incidents where she has shown any humility but I could be wrong. Should a captain show humility on a super yacht, specifically Below Deck and Captain Sandy?
Side Note: I have to say, I am INCREDIBLY DISAPPOINTED that Chef Rachel Hargrove will not be back to Bravo (due to an incident that happened between her and Austen Kroll of Southern Charm.). However, I respect her decision and will be on standby if she ever comes back to Bravo. In fact, I would love to see a Top Chef Below Deck. Imagine Chef Rachel competing against Chef Ben! (You're welcome for the idea, Bravo.)
